We read it at least 2x a day before baby brother arrived, and I think it made my son's transition to big brotherhood so much easier. Like many people I suffered from intermittent intestinal problems for many years. And there is so much to take in! Thought Provoking. The theorems that are necessary are demonstrated. The book its OK. However I am very disappointed that my book came without the audio CD. While the technology has progressed since this book was published, its still pretty relevent. I've implemented his ideas and rFor example, one model explains the limit on the size of social networks and illuminates problems in the transition to more formal legal systems as economies grow beyond this limit. The models also help us understand why state law dovetails with some non-state institutions and collides with others. Even in countries with strong legal systems, many of these mechanisms continue under the shadow of the law. This book builds on these studies and constructs a toolkit of theoretical models to analyze them. How can property rights be protected and contracts be enforced in countries where the rule of law is ineffective or absent? How can firms from advanced market economies do business in such circumstances?
