Once again, the author has failed to rein in her main character in the 'fight scenes.' Kate is beaten up, abducted while only underdressed in Amish clothing and driven on a snowmobile in freezing temperatures, locked outside in these same freezing temperatures, and then breaks herself out and runs miles through cold and snow! Yet Kate sustains no real injuries, no frostbite from exposure and is scootering around the next day, resuming her investigation without even a bruise on the face! I know this is fiction, but the author continuously puts her main character through such abuse and it just seems so unbelievable that Kate can shake off serious injuries without any consequences. Additionally, it has been hinted in the reviews that she does not agree with vitamins--i have not found that to be true--she encourages you to use them but you must implement hair care. I am convinced that if, early in my career, I had read, understood and applied the principles in The Science of Success I, too, would be in Fortune Magazine's list of the world's richest men.. It is thin, reasonably well-illustrated compared to other books in the field, and even helps you gets your toes wet in sheaves, category theory and some other neat topics.That said, I believe the prerequisites in the preface (university algebra, with a complex variables course optional) are understated; e.g. T
